Before being educated and trained as a dentist, Dr. Phillips earned her BS degree from UCLA School of Public Health in Nutritional Science and spent five years as a dietary consultant. She directly recognizes the value of proper dental function as it pertains to chewing, diet, and overall health. Dr. Phillips graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1975. She first came to San Luis Obispo in 1978 to pursue her interest in Arabian horses. An avid rider and former breeder, Dr. Phillips decided to make San Luis Obispo her home in 1984, and Swiss Dental Center was born.
Dr. Phillips believes in Swiss techniques for replacing teeth and developing characteristic smiles. Each patient works with us to combine their personal and family characteristics with the sound principles of harmony and the ‘golden proportions’ found in nature, mathematics, and art.
Dr. Phillips has designed and manufactured the complete Rootform® Implant system, which is FDA-approved, and she also designs and places custom implants for patients with special needs.

Dr. Phillips and her husband of fifty-three years, Les, have two grown sons—one a commercial pilot and the other a film editor. They share a love of motorsports, cycling, Arabian horses, and their two grandsons, Corbin and Alden. As avid cyclists, they attend the Amgen Tour every year.
In her free time, Dr. Phillips enjoys many creative outlets, including drawing, photography, cooking, and playing the piano. She is also committed to continuing her education and staying current on the latest innovations in implant dentistry. A passionate student and instructor, Dr. Phillips continues to dedicate a significant portion of her time to the latest research and development in her field, even after more than 30 years in dentistry.
